As COVID-19 continues to impact our communities and businesses, Leah from Leah's Catering of Seattle is adapting to the needs of the general public. Reaching back to her training and previous career as a fashion designer, she is designing and sewing fabric face coverings for use to help combat the spread of the deadly virus. High quality, densely woven cottons are used to maximize filtration. Lightweight, these masks are made for all day comfort. Stretch Lycra ear loops secure without uncomfortable elastic pull. Reversible, in a variety of fabrics to brighten the mood, these masks are washable between use. A gentle wash and hanging to dry will minimize the need to touch up with an iron.

The unique dying process of this tightly woven fabric makes a mask extremely durable. Masks are reversible. Product Image shows both patterns.

Let's ensure that N95 masks are available for first responders to the epidemic who need the highest level of protection.

We are in this together! 10% of artist sales will be donated to FeedingAmerica.org: Washington.

Leslie, known to her customers as Leah of Leah's Catering of Seattle, was a Parson's trained fashion designer before becoming a chef. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, her catering business is on pause. Answering Governor Inslee's request that businesses repurpose themselves to fill a need in the community, Leslie is going back to her origins as a lover of fine fabrics. As a designer of menswear at Nordstrom and freelance designer for Eddie Bauer and other local companies, designing and visiting factories in Hong Kong was more the norm. Now, Leslie reaches way back to the days of working in Seattle garment factories to put herself through college. Long gone are these production houses but the old school techniques are more relevant now. Operating a lone industrial machine at home, Leslie is coordinating with other homebound seamstresses to bring quality fabric face coverings to the general market. Let's leave the official personal protective equipment to the first line responders. Let's ease their load and take responsibility for covering our faces when we have close interactions with others. We're in this together; let's get through it showing our colors and get to the other side better for the struggle.
